How do you feel about the traffic situation in Belton? It is only a small village but we seem to have enough traffic for the whole county.
Can we do something about it?
Well, I think that we can at least make a start. I have your Parish Council have been lobbying the highways department to try to get a survey carried out over peak hours to determine if there are any "improvements" that the Highways Department can do for us. They are already putting in place, action to try to stop the traffic using Belton as a shortcut to EM Airport. Now we really would like them to take action in the village especially around School Lane. We'll kep pestering them. Of course you can all do your bit as well, by ensuring that you all use your driveways, if you have them, when you leave your vehicles and not just park them on the streets. You could also try not taking the car when taking your children to school. I know that there are always issues around this, but the County Council are running some marvellous initiatives to try to get children to walk to school to increase their activity levels so you could kill two birds with one stone if you will pardon the pun.

We are trying to obtain funding to replace the old playground equipment with a brand new one, one that is up to date and can entertain children of all ages. We have looked at trying to make sure that the new equipment is safe, fun and good value. The safety play surface needs renewing and we would liek to put a fence around the playground to protect the play area from dogs etc.
